It’s that simple! Show me unconditional love and I’d respect you unconditionally 😉
Ever wondered what your purpose in life is and how you can find personal fulfillment? Well I have and it has been a journey. The last Sunday service at Daystar was about finding your crusade and I sure did learn a few things.
- Selfishness is the reason we do not find fulfillment
- You need to learn to turn the focus away from yourself and focus on other people
- You can not find purpose if you are the center of your focus
- Get out of your bubble! Focus on others!!!
- Wish people well
- Take practical steps to meet the needs of others
It might take some adjustments to move the focus from yourself and unto others but like they say ‘continuous practice becomes an habit’.
Also try to find time to read through this interesting article I found by Leo Babauta http://zenhabits.net/life-purpose/
It is interesting to realize how fast time goes by. Discovering that my last blog post was on the 30th of Dec ’13, I shuck my head in disappointment, asking myself the usual question “Why?”, and “Have I been so distracted?”.
The schedules of my day, and family life could be really time and energy sapping. Living a new life as a wife, in-law and mother-to-be I realise I need to RE-STRATEGIZE and RE-ORGANIZE my life.
Yes guys, I’m taken!!! And I am loving every minute of being MRS OLATUNJI. On a personal level, 2014 was more of wedding planning than any other activity. It takes alot to plan a wedding no matter how big, medium or small budgeted the wedding is especially if you are the one doing all the planning. I am so grateful to God for making the event a success despite the fact that the bribe arrived late for the church service *smh*.
From this experience, I hereby bestow upon my humble self the title ‘Certified Event Planner’. Yes oh! You can contact me for my professional event planning service by email firstname.lastname@example.org 🙂 . Just to share a few wedding pics.
It is so easy to say thank you but gratitude is to another level. Appreciation for what was, what is and what is expected to be is all i can think of right now. Family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, business partners even haters, all make and influence your life one way or the other. They influence the little changes in you that builds up over time and makes you who you are. Ofcourse you have the willpower and instinct to sieve out the bad influences but all the same they build your experience and in a way make you wiser.
Quarrels and misunderstandings though may seem terrible at the time but looking back at them after resolutions not only makes you laugh but also brings to realization that without them your life may be boring and without spice. They make your exercise your ability to forgive and forget and brings to mind what the Lord does for us on a daily basis by forgiving our trespasses. They also bring people closer with understanding. Don’t forget, Resolution is very important for peace of mind.
Various achievements of the year make you proud and disappointment of not achieving your goals makes you sober, but SMILE, 2014 is another opportunity to dazzle the world if only you work harder at achieving those goal in the new year. Don’t push yourself so hard over the extreme, as somethings are just not meant to be.
Regrets and Mistakes are normal. No one is perfect you know, but learning from them makes the difference. Though no one wants to learn from their mistakes, I for instance would prefer learning a lesson or two from the mistakes of others rather than having to make the mistakes myself but life for everyone is different so also are our encounters. Our different encounters bring about possibly different mistakes with different lessons to be learnt.
For those who experienced some form of loss in 2013, take heart and be strong. Sorrow may last for a while but joy comes in the morning( 0r in 2014 you might say). Have faith, all will be renewed.
Treasure those who give you unsolicited advice for they see things you don’t and help point you in the right direction. Keeping an open mind is the best way to deal with unsolicited advice as they could be annoying sometimes especially if you’re an opinionated person.
Happy for couples who tied the knots in 2013 even though it wasn’t mine, my turn would come soon. Seeing couples happy and in-love on the alter just makes my head spin with admiration so bad I find myself blushing more than the bride (I cant help myself, I just love LOVE!).
I’m grateful for all that I am, all that I have and all that is to come. Appreciate all the people connected to me one way or the other. Ekene loves you all! Mwah!
As the image reads, ‘IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR CHECK YOUR PULSE’. Na serious matter be that oh.
May LOVE, JOY and PEACE abide in your hearts as you usher in the new year.
12th of Decemeber 2013, I just realised that the year is about to end! Wow! That soon? I remember January 2013 like it was yesterday, celebrating the new year with family, friends and a special love interest who has become the love of my life! Nice.
Enough about my January jare. The point I am trying to pass across is that LIFE IS SHORT! We live, We sleep, We wake up every morning, living each day as it comes, if care is not taken we might just aswell spend the next year doing the same thing but what makes the difference is what we do with our hours. Lets calculate the hours we have to make a difference in a year.
To find how many hours are in a year we would need to multiply 7 (days in a week) x 24 (Hours in a day) = 168 then 168 (hours in a week) x 52 (weeks)= 8,736 Hours in a year. Now lets reschedule the days, remember we have Sunday as a rest day and some have Saturdays too as well, we also sleep during the night so that’s some hours to subtract from the main. Therefore we get,
5(working days in a week) x 12(Approx Hours to work) = 60 then 60(hours of work in a week) x 52(weeks) = 3120 Hours in a year. That’s a drastic reduction to the initial 8,736 hours we initially calculated.(5616 Hours wasted!)
And the reduction of hours go on as we try to calculate how we use our hours according to our individual lifestyle, habits, work and way of life. This is part of the reasons why some people usually do not achieve their goals and plans for the new year. We think tomorrow would always come and we procrastinate on important things. We fail to realised that we are living each today because of the wonderful Grace God has provided to those that believe in Him. We should always reflect on each day and give thanks to God for another opportunity to make an impact in the world, or to atleast do something tangible and meaningful.
I must confess I am guilty of negligence to my hours this year. Sometimes, I spend my hours doing nothing beneficial. I could blame it on stress of work or laziness or just lack of motivation but there is and there should be no excuse for negligence to time. As the saying goes ‘Time Waits for Nobody” and seriously it doesn’t have a brake we could oil to work better or a pause button neither does it have a rewind where we can replay events and manipulate situations to suit us(I wish it did though, men I would so replay, fast forward, pause to re-think and re-strategise, you get. 😉 ) Wait a minute, as I’m analyzing time its actually moving and not waiting for me to conclude, so I better conclude before I spend too much time analyzing time.
All in all, treasure every seconds, minute, hours, days, months you have in a year. Do something meaningful, impactful and worthwhile with the hours you get even if the year is coming to an end, its not too late to psyche yourself up again. Get involved in meaning activities and projects, achieve a personal or group goal. Do something that makes sense sha!
I can’t believe I just wrote this lengthy article, wow, you see I just achieved something within some meaningful minutes of writing. :d
Least I forget, 12th of December 2013 marks 11months of being with someone special!!! Will Love you always Honey. Love is good, Love is God and God is Love. Stay Blessed.
